Crazy Ideas
They agreed wholeheartedly, but it was getting close to curfew. We decided to try it on our next adventur e; which would take place just a little over a week later.
Thursday
The day before my Academic Decathlon State competition, the crew consisting of Connor, Sophie, and I assembled. We adventured around downtown Phoenix, taking pictures in the streets, in the alleys and on top of buildings.
Once we had finished downtown, one of us brought up the action painting idea. We quickly headed back to Connors car, and hurried home to Mesa. We convinced my Mother to give us the Studio key with the stipulation that we repainted the Cyclorama wall UltraWhite after our exploration into Abstract Expressionism. A change of clothes, and trip to Walmart later we were at the studio and ready to begin. | |
At The Studio
We set up shop at the studio, opened our cans of paint, and turned a blank canvas into art. The entire experience was really, really, really exciting. I felt like I was part of the art. That the only people experiencing what I was experiencing at that moment were Connor and Sophie. It was a truly eye-opening and unique experience that I recommend everyone to try. It doesn't have to be on such a grand scale either; you can grab a $3 piece of cloth from SAS Fabric Store, 4-5 cans of assorted paint colors, and be just as successful as we were. It all comes down to your willingness of experiencing new things. Get out there and DO action painting. It's a blast, but remember cleaning up is always the hardest part. |
Pictures, Pictures, Pictures.
Of course, no art project is finished without a photoshoot!
